Joan Lunden has always been known for her risk taking and adventurous nature, she rappelled Mendenhall Glacier in Alaska, paraglided, bungee-jumped and many other risky things for her show GMA. Additionally Joan has hosted various parades around the world, including the Walt Disney World Easter parade, Tournament of Roses parade and Christmas parade.

In her personal life, Joan Lunden was married to Michael A. Krauss in 1978 and converted to Judaism after marriage, but they divorced in 1992 – they had three daughters. Joan then married Jeff Konigsberg in 2000; Jeff is a summer camp owner. With Jeff she has two set of twins who were born with the help of a surrogate mother. The world was shocked when she revealed in GMA that she has been affected by breast cancer but had recovered. She is known as an excellent mother, such that she has also received many awards including “Mother of The Year” by Mother’s day committee and “Career mother of The Year”.
